Chicks Who Ride Bikes [CWRB] was founded in 2013 by Jordana Blackman, and is now the largest community of female cyclists in Australia. CWRB has hosted and sponsored dozens of events and supports initiatives such as SheRides, Diamonds in the Dirt and Chicks In The Sticks.
As well running Chicks Who Ride Bikes, Jordana is an active transport consultant in the Major Infrastructure sector and understands the power and value of female networks in male dominated environments.
With two decades in elite sport, as an athlete, commentator and administrator, Katey believes strongly in the power of shared experiences, community, and the empowerment sport can provide women.
She holds a number of board positions, and works in broadcasting as a sports commentator, covering iconic races such as the Tour Down Under, Commonwealth and Olympic Games and World Championships. Katey has an extensive history in event and community management and is passionate about getting more women on bikes, more often.
Nicki has over 20 years of experience as a personal trainer and is passionate about helping to build strong bodies for cycling. After overcoming a pesky hip injury herself, she began to focus on exactly what combination of exercises, stretching, and foam rolling were most effective in allowing her to get back on the bike - so rehab and safe functional movement is key for Nicki.
She is also qualified in Pilates, Yoga, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and runs a personal training business from her home in Adelaide.
If you've been following CWRB for any length of time, it's impossible for you to not know who Cathy Peel is. Partner in crime to Chief Chick Jordana - especially during the Tour Down Under - Cathy is synonymous with laughter, energy and having a great time on your bike.
She adores taking beginners out on rides to boost their confdence, even as she battles bowel cancer (which you can read about more on her blog).
Ali is a mum of two small girls, Pilates teacher, and a personal trainer with a special interest in pregnancy, postpartum training and pelvic floor rehab. Having championed pelvic floor health through mountain biking with her @mtbmamas coaching business, her goal is to bridge the gap between pregnancy birth and getting back onto the bike.
She is motivated by seeing what women are capable of and helping them maintain longevity and athleticism for the rest of their lives!
Lanz was just 35 years old in 2019 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable breast cancer. This experience pushed Lanz to think about how we all deal with obstacles and difficulties in our lives, and she became a qualified resilience coach.
When she's not riding bikes, doing crazy fitness challenges or blogging, Lanz is a Movement Operator in the Royal New Zealand Army Logistics Regiment.
Lanz also happens to be Chief Chick Jordana's older sister!
Tara is our Nutritionist and Chief Nom Nom Manager. She has a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine and is an Accredited Functional Nutritionist who is passionate about ‘keeping it real’ when it comes to eating for health. Taking a personal approach to the continued support of others.
She offers nutritional and dietary programs that are easy to follow and understand, and her recipes are totally delish.
Laura chose to be a yoga teacher after finding it a saving grace during a very stressful career. After deciding enough was enough, Laura quit her day job and went to Costa Rica to undertake her yoga teacher training. It changed her perspective on life, showing her the importance of mind body connection, and the power of breath.
Facing her fears in mountain biking has also been life changing for her and she's now passionate about encouraging other girls and women to get involved!
